Services on OpenVMS (MiaVX1) will no longer be available after May 31, 2002

On May 31, 2002, most services will be removed from MiaVX1, the university's Open VMS mainframe. This action is part of the university's continuing effort to provide you with the most current emerging technologies. The MiaVX1 server is dated in today's environment of client-centered services as most vendor applications and services are being written for newer platforms. To keep pace with newer technology demands we will, therefore, move all services to other platforms, and remove most of the hardware that comprises this system. Because there is no other platform on which COBOL can be taught, a portion of the hardware will be reused as a dedicated COBOL server.
